Draft — pending regulatory approval
These Rules of Play are subject to AGCO approval prior to publication. In the event of any conflict between these rules and the terms of the AGCO licence, the licence and applicable law prevail.
1. Licensor & licence
This raffle is conducted and managed by the Superior Greenstone Association for Community Living ("SGACL", "we", "us"), a registered Ontario charity, under a licence issued by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
Licence No.: RAF1552567
Proceeds support SGACL's residential and community-based programs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Northern Ontario.
2. Draw location, date & time
Draws are held at SGACL's administrative office, 206 Hogarth Ave W, Greenstone, Ontario. The date and time of each draw are published on the 50/50 Raffle page and are set under our AGCO licence.
- Draw location: 206 Hogarth Ave W, Greenstone, ON P0T 1M0
- Draw date & time: as shown on the raffle page for the current draw (typically 7:00 PM Eastern Time on the published draw date).
- Sales close: shortly before the draw, as shown by the live countdown on the raffle page.
3. Eligibility
To purchase a ticket, you must:
- be 18 years of age or older; and
- be physically located within the Province of Ontario at the time of purchase.
Members of SGACL's Board of Directors and staff or volunteers directly involved in the conduct and management of this raffle are not permitted to purchase tickets. Purchasing a ticket while ineligible may result in the ticket being void and the purchase refunded, without a claim to any prize.
4. Ticket price & packages
Tickets are sold in the following packages:
| Package | Price | Approx. per ticket |
|---|---|---|
| 10 tickets | $10 | $1.00 |
| 50 tickets | $20 | $0.40 |
| 150 tickets | $50 | ~$0.33 |
| 300 tickets | $75 | $0.25 |
Prices and packages are set under our AGCO licence and may change for future draws. The packages available for the current draw are shown on the raffle page.
5. Prize
This is a 50/50 raffle. The prize is 50% of the total gross value of all tickets sold for the draw. The remaining 50% supports SGACL's charitable programs. Because the prize depends on sales, the exact amount is not known until sales close; the raffle page shows an estimated jackpot that updates as tickets are sold.
6. How the draw works & winner selection
After sales close, a winning ticket number is selected at random using the AGCO-approved electronic raffle system. Every ticket sold for the draw has an equal chance of being selected. The winning number is posted on the raffle page after the draw, and the holder of the winning ticket is contacted directly using the details provided at purchase.
7. Winner verification by government-issued ID
Before any prize is paid, the winner must verify their identity and eligibility. This includes providing valid government-issued photo identification confirming that they are 18 years of age or older, and confirmation that they were physically located in Ontario at the time of purchase. We may also confirm that the winner is not a Board member, or staff or volunteer involved in running the raffle.
8. Claiming a prize
Once identity and eligibility are verified, the prize is paid to the winner by the method and within the timeframe set out under our AGCO licence. Winners consent to the publication of their first name and city (never a full address) for transparency, as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Unclaimed prizes
If a prize is not claimed, we will make reasonable efforts to contact the winner. Unclaimed prizes are held for a minimum of six (6) months from the draw date. By participating, you consent that, if a prize remains unclaimed after that period, it will be directed to the AGCO to be dealt with in accordance with its directions and applicable law.
10. Record retention
In accordance with AGCO requirements, we retain raffle records as follows:
- Ticket records: kept for at least one (1) year.
- Purchase confirmations and related documentation: kept for at least four (4) years.
11. Refunds
All ticket sales are final. Refunds are issued only where required — for example, where a purchase was made by an ineligible person, where a duplicate or erroneous charge occurred, or where a draw is cancelled. Approved refunds are returned to the original method of payment. To request a refund, contact us using the details in the Contact section below.
12. Responsible gambling
Play for fun, not for profit — this raffle is a way to support our charity, not a way to make money. Set a budget and never play with money you can't afford to lose. Free, confidential help is available 24/7 through ConnexOntario at 1-866-531-2600 or www.connexontario.ca.
For warning signs, tips, and more support options, see our full Responsible Gambling page.
13. Disputes & AGCO oversight
This raffle is conducted under the oversight of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. We aim to resolve any dispute fairly and promptly; please contact us first using the details below. Decisions regarding the conduct of the raffle are made in accordance with the AGCO licence and applicable law, and the AGCO's determination on licensing matters is final.
